I would strongly suggest asking any specific questions you have here on the
mailing list. Any work or discussion should be done publicly so others can
benefit from it.

You are, as you note, very short on time though. The application deadline
is tomorrow, and I know it's unlikely I'll have time to answer much between
now and then as I already have a full schedule for today and most of
tomorrow. I can't speak for others though.
