i have several large tables (10-20 million) which i clean up every night with:

- drop indexes
- vacuum
- recreate indexes

i started doing this because initially, the vacuum with indexes took
significantly longer than the overall drop/vacuum/create.

i'm currently running 6.5.3 and considering an upgrade to 7.x.

what is the thought on the time it takes to vacuum with indexes, as opposed
to without?
