I don't know how things work in Canada - where Marc is - but in the US
a simple DBA would be all that's necessary for an entity to copyright
in their own name. Many clubs and user groups do this regularly. A
form that's filled out every five years is all that's needed to maintain
the business name. (DBA = Doing Business As)

Same here, but I have filed and received a copyright for one of the
above unmentioned clubs when I was a member.
