Currently there is a pull request for the postgres docker repo to support
Alpine.

The P.R. is ready to be merged but @tianon noticed that the debian platform
is not being build from source unlike the Alpine variant. Is compiling from
source the recommended means do obtain latest releases of Postgresql for
the Alpine environment?
