depende del tipo de servicio q contratres, por lo general si es hosting
compartiendo un servidor con otros clientes no te dan mucha libertad, y
si es un servidor dedicado podes tocar lo que quieras, total es tu servidor.

Es la manera de hacerlo?? o hay alguna otra??? sugerencias??

yo diria q es la forma de hacerlo, ya luego esta el tema de los gustos
personales(perl, php, etc)
