Hi,
On the Ubuntu download page:
http://www.postgresql.org/download/linux/ubuntu/
it clearly states that:
The PostgreSQL apt repository supports LTS versions of Ubuntu
(10.04, 12.04 and 14.04) on amd64 and i386 architectures as
well as select non-LTS versions(14.10).
Unfortunately the wiki page for the apt repo:
https://wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Apt
states:
Currently, we support
Ubuntu 12.04 (precise), 14.04 (trusty), 14.10 (utopic)
2015-05-08: Ubuntu lucid (10.04) deprecated. The packages will
continue to be available, but no longer receive updates.
And this was discovered when I recently botched almost a full working
day on upgrading my old 9.1 Postgresql to 9.4 on Lucid.
I suggest that the 10.04 part is removed from the ubuntu download page.
/jens
