v8.0: Corba, or XML, or one of those IBM standard protocol things for
fe/be
v9.0: multiple database access
v10.0: distributed databases
v11.0: features released as M$Postgres-1.0 after M$ owns every ISP
scrappy could use, cuts off access, and takes over the sources
