timeofday() :: timestamp

Buenas,,,
Tengo instalado postgreSQL en Win y en FreeBSD.

En Win --> version 8.1.4
En Win el sgte. query OK. puedo hacer *timeofday() :: timestamp*

postgres=# select timeofday(),timeofday() :: timestamp;

timeofday | timeofday
-------------------------------------+-------------------------
Tue Dec 04 21:13:37.186000 2007 COT | 2007-12-04 21:13:37.186

En FreeBSD --> version 8.2.3

sisintegral=# select timeofday();

-------------------------------------
timeofday
-------------------------------------
Mon Sep 04 07:06:51.734909 2006 ECT
(1 row)

Pero,no puedo hacer *timeofday() :: timestamp*

sisintegral=# select timeofday()::timestamp;
ERROR: invalid input syntax for type timestamp: "Mon Sep 04 07:09:56.101818 2006 ECT"

Sería tan amables de decirme por que pasa esto. Tengo que configurar
algo en mi freeBSD. ¿Qué no estoy considerando?.
