Well, because PostgreSQL does not really have a Corporation, and MySQL
does not really have a Community.

However, they both want to see their products do well and gain mind and
market share. I think our advocacy efforts are severely lacking at the
moment, and I'd certainly not be adverse to seeing more effort by both
the PG community and the PG corporations to fix this. And yes, MySQL
is certainly one of our competitors: saying otherwise is wishful thinking
at best.
