I had postgresql up and running and I was doing some work in psql when
the computer suffered a hard reboot. On reboot I could not restart the
postgresql service (Redhat system). When I attempted to restart the
postgresql service I got a "Checking postgresql installation: no database files
found" error and the start fails.

Can anyone tell me what happened and how I recover from this situation?

Thanks
