The door swings both ways. I announced my new version on January 16th
to the general list, in a clearly labeled subject line.
People have been complaining about the documentation for a long time,
and I thought it was time to, as a recent thread put it, "put up or
shut up." My goal is to turn our documentation from one of the worst
to one of the best. The major shortcoming of the docs has always been
the searching, so I focused my efforts there. I also am endeavoring to
build something more than just a Google search of the /idocs directory:
if we can't do better than that, we may as well just put in a Google
search form box. (which has been suggested by others).
I'd like to take a look at the new version of the idocs, but they still
appear to be down (as well as major parts of the website).
