i am having a number of problems with PostgreSQL....
i had everything installled and seemed to be running fine on friday, I come
to work today and i get DEBUG messages when i try to start the postmaster
and i also can't get it to find files that i know are there and they are in
the proper directories
the DEBUG messages i get are as follows:
DEBUG: database system was shut down at 2002-02-11 14:27:52 GMT
DEBUG: CheckPoint record at (0, 3354392)
DEBUG: Redo record at (0, 3354392); Undo record at (0,0); Shutdown TRUE
DEBUG: NextTransactionId: 820; NextOid: 19099
DEBUG: database system is in production state
then it seems to hang there.
also i am having trouble shutting down the postmaster
i send the pg_ctl stop command with the proper directory listing and it
doesn't disconnect
