Try removing the CLASSPATH, ie:
[postgres(at)maidast pgsql]$ unset CLASSPATH
[postgres(at)maidast pgsql]$ make
That should work.
The problem's caused by javac getting confused with the class names being
identical to the classes in the java.sql package.
