Hello everybody,
I am new to this list as to PostgreSQL as well. I am glad to make
part of this and to have the chance of using this RDBMS ( and get paid
in doing so :).
I got an eMac G4 and bought the dbexperts professional package.
Installed the Mac OS X package following instructions provided on the
books and found myself stuck in somewhere that I do not not exactly
where is. My question is: what did the installer did and what is left
to do ? it executed initdb already, or I should run it ? it created the
postgres user ( any user, not exactly the "postgres" ) or I should
create somebody to administrate the process ? I just needed some
general guidelines of what the mac installer do and what it do not do,
so I can begin to work my way with postgres.
TIA,
João Paulo Vasconcellos
