i asked this question yesterday or the day before, but it may have been
too far down in a posting to be seen and replied to:

it says in bright red letters:
NOTE: RPMs are not yet available for v7.3.
however, at the link:
http://www.ca.postgresql.org/ftpsite/binary/v7.3/RPMS/redhat-8.0/
there are what certainly look to be 7.3 RPMs.
are they are aren't they? what is their status?
i'd move to 7.3 if i thought these were release RPMs.
