For clarity, do you mean you have install the PG db in a VM that was created with Vmware?

I'm probably missing something, but if the answer is Yes, it should be no different than installing it on any other server, and accessing the db in the same way you would if it were on any other service.

We have an embedded Postgres database installed along with Vcenter Vmware app. We wanted to connect it with ODBC connection, Is it possible? If yes, what version of ODBC i need to install and are there any changes we will need to make on Postgres SQL side?
