Hey guys and gals, my company (Instructure) is looking for a full-time DBA.
The quick version is that Instructure is the best place I've worked at, out
of many, many places. Here's the official long version from
http://www.instructure.com/jobs:

We hire bright, talented people. All engineers contribute to the product in
a meaningful way. The product team doesn't throw specs over some imaginary
wall to engineering, and engineering doesn't throw code over some imaginary
wall to Operations. We all collaborate together.

Most of our work is open sourced, even our primary product (
http://github.com/instructure) We are changing how teachers and students
interact, whether in small groups or with tens of thousands of students in
one course. Check out our online courses at canvas.net.

If you live in the Salt Lake City, Chicago, or Seattle areas, this could be
a good fit for you. We’re willing to talk remote if relocation is not in
the cards.

We need somebody who can:
• Be part of an on-call team
• Have the knowledge to know how to respond to database problems at 3am
• Be able to automate processes so that there aren't database problems at
3am
• Be a point of contact for questions about databases, both from technical
engineers and less technical members of the company
• Be on top of problems before they become problems

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge with:
• Linux
• Amazon Web Services
• PostgreSQL, or some other ACID-compliant SQL database
• Cassandra, or some other NoSQL database
• pgBouncer, or some other form of database pooling
• Puppet, or some other form of config management
• Resource monitoring and alerting
• Automation
• Performance turning
• No fear of learning The New Hotness, and no inclination to throw the baby
out with the bath water
• Star Wars, Star Trek, the Lord of the Rings, or some other form of geek
culture

Our Culture = Your Culture
Instructure has a pretty relaxed atmosphere. We care a lot more about what
people do than how nice they dress. So feel free to leave your dress
clothes at home; we do. Also, we have an open, collaborative work
environment. If you see something you disagree with, rock the boat.
Challenging ourselves makes us stronger.

Benefits:

Time Off:
• Lots of paid time off
• 8 paid holidays
100% Employer Paid Benefits for You and Your Qualified Dependents (We got
you completely covered!):
• Medical (United Healthcare)
• Dental (LifeMap)
• Life/AD&D (LifeMap)
More perks…
Fully stocked break room. Equipment provided. That's right, you get a
MacBook (and we'll even throw in a desk and chair). Just saying.

We participate in eVerify. EEO.

Apply on our website, or just reply to me personally with your resume.
