Another option would be to add them in superscript using the <sup>
html tag (or even using some unicode stuff):
Add backend support for injection points (Michael Paquier)<sup>1,
2, 3, 4</sup>
So similar to footnotes in a sense, i.e. if you want details click on
the small numbers
