I've had problems with pg_fetch_object() in particular versions of
PHP. I believe this is a PHP problem. It may be that the PHP module
isn't compiled for the same version of Postgres. I know there was a
bug, at one time. What version of PHP? What version of web-server?
How did you build?

BTW: I'm not sure if the PostgreSQL guys support the PHP scripting
interface.
