Hmm, I didn't spot anything in there that looked horrendously
objectional. The "foo.c_str()" -> "(const char *) foo" changes are
somewhat ugly though

Oops. Yep, that should be fine.

I assume, just move:
grid->GetTable()->SetValue(row, col, value);
into ApplyEdit() ?
