Should be C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\<Version number>\data - but I
suppose that could be changed at installation. But: looking into that
directory needs admin rights - and searching for the file name with the
Windows Explorer only finds postgresql.conf.sample in
C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\<Version number>\share.
That might explain why you couldn't easily find the file.
