I tried (and failed) to set up a standby server using these directions. I probably mistyped something.
I figured out from someone’s blog (https://www.percona.com/blog/2019/10/11/how-to-set-up-streaming-replication-in-postgresql-12/0 that pg_basebackup exists and makes the process must simpler.
I recommend 26.2.4 to at least mention the pg_basebackup method
