minor upgrades - which files?

We're running 9.0.x on windows.

When deploying a minor postgres upgrade, all documentation states that:
"To update between compatible versions, you simply replace the executables while the server is down and restart the server"

Does this only refer to the bin folder? (This works just fine)
What about the other folders under the main postgresql folder (doc / include / lib / etc.)?
