I have been attempting to install pgsql so I can make use of the old Pg commands, otherwise I have thousands of lines of code in hundreds of cgi scripts which I am going to have to modify. I successfully installed this same version on another Centos 6 server about a year ago and it compiled and works correctly. This is on a new server I am attempting to put into service, and need to get it running ASAP.

I have been unable to do a successful make on the software, I get
LD_RUN_PATH="/usr/lib/../lib64" cc -shared -O2 -L/usr/local/lib -fstack-protector Pg.o -o blib/arch/auto/Pg/Pg.so \
-L/usr/local/pgsql/include -lpq \

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpq
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [blib/arch/auto/Pg/Pg.so] Error 1
After getting the error the first time, I removed the old perl and installed the latest version
per the instructions in the README
pgsql_perl5-1.9.0
