Jan 6 03:29:29 am postgres[30621]: [16-1] ERROR: could not create file
"base/21289/23519_fsm": Input/output error

Error writing to xlog not a fatal error too.
Why it's not a fatal error for server?
Server worked more then 4 days with broken FS.

As the result I lost server and backup for a last 4 days

Is it possible somehow to avoid it in future?
