In 8.2:

cww=# BEGIN;
BEGIN
cww=# CREATE TEMP TABLE foo ON COMMIT DROP AS (SELECT 1 AS a, 2 AS b);
SELECT
cww=# COMMIT;
COMMIT
cww=# \d foo
Did not find any relation named "foo".
