I am running psql 8.1.10, and javac 1.5.0_13 on Centos5 and have compiled pljava-1.3.0 from source. I am able to run the deployer successfully(it seems) The functions in the sqlj schema are as follows:

\df sqlj.*
List of functions
Schema | Name | Result data type | Argument data types
--------+--------------------+-------------------+-----------------------------------------------
sqlj | add_type_mapping | void | character varying, character varying
sqlj | drop_type_mapping | void | character varying
sqlj | get_classpath | character varying | character varying
sqlj | install_jar | void | bytea, character varying, boolean
sqlj | install_jar | void | character varying, character varying, boolean
sqlj | java_call_handler | language_handler |
sqlj | javau_call_handler | language_handler |
sqlj | remove_jar | void | character varying, boolean
sqlj | replace_jar | void | bytea, character varying, boolean
sqlj | replace_jar | void | character varying, character varying, boolean
sqlj | set_classpath | void | character varying, character varying
(11 rows)

However when I run select sqlj.install_jar statement in psql I get

ERROR: Failed to create Java VM

The posgress server adds to it as follows:

libgcj: unknown option: -Xrs
ERROR: Failed to create Java VM

Has anyone seen this? What is the solution?

Any help would be appreciated.
