Postgres 7.4:
usa=> select md5('apple');
md5
----------------------------------
1f3870be274f6c49b3e31a0c6728957f
(1 row)
And my PHP:
bash-2.05a$ php -q
<?php echo md5('apple') ?>
1f3870be274f6c49b3e31a0c6728957f
So mine are the same, but yours is completely different to anything.
