hi, maybe it's not the right place to ask this, but hope somebody can
helpme.

i've downloaded the "peer direct" pgsql version for windows, and i've
installed it on windows 200 professional and server with no problems
until now.

yesterday we installed it on a customer's server with windows 2000
server and sp 4, and whe we try to start the service, we get an "access
denied" message error. in our server (same version and sp) it just
starts fine.

i must cofess i'm not familiar with the way permissions are stablished
in windows 2000 (i'm an all linux user since 1997), but my impression is
that it is a problem of permissions.

so any help or pointers to locate the problem are greatly welcomed.

thanks in advance, and best regards.
