I'm running version 7.1.3.
I've defined a table with a 'bigint' field (as described in the
Reference manual),
and the table creation fails with:
-- psql:createDeviceTable.sql:9: ERROR: Unable to locate type name
'bigint' in catalog

So....whassssup?
