Looks more like a hardware problem, ala signal 11.
I've built RPM's on RH 7 many times -- as has Trond -- and have never
run across this issue, using the default compiler (the gcc version that
doesn't exist).
Ask Trond (teg(at)redhat(dot)com) to be certain.
