unixODBC
===========

unixODBC is a complete ODBC solution for Linux/UNIX. It includes such
things as; DriverManager, GUI tools, command line tools, driver dev
framework, etc

It differs from iODBC in several ways. iODBC is a multiplatform
DriverManager while unixODBC is Linux/UNIX focused with portability only
a concern with Drivers. unixODBC is a more complete solution for
Linux/UNIX because it covers GUI tools etc...

unixODBC is 100% GPL/LGPL and is not controlled by any commercial
interest.... very much like PostgreSQL. unixODBC is in its 3rd Alpha
release and its 1st Beta is expected within days... hopefully PostgreSQL
will be supported in the 1st Beta.

Please visit ( http://www.genix.net/unixODBC ) to find out more and
please check back in a few days for the 1st Beta.

Peter Harvey

NOTE: A completely rewritten DM is being tested and is to be released
within days.
