In view of the GiST index corruption bug that was found this week [1],
the core committee has determined that we should put out new update
releases, even though it's only been a month since the last set.
Updates will go back at least to 8.1 to fix the GiST problem ---
still undecided about whether 8.0 and 7.4 need to be turned.
The tentative schedule is to wrap tarballs Thursday 10/30 for
public announcement Monday 11/3.
So, if you're sitting on any bug reports or patches for the back
branches, now would be a good time to finish 'em up and send 'em in.
regards, tom lane
