Hi Richard,
I have been playing around with Erlang, the programming language, and
looking at some of the database engines that sprung out using the
language such as CouchDB and Mnesia. These are not Relational databases,
but they are still pretty interesting. Using Erlang, these databases
emphasizes on concurrency, fault tolerant, and live update of
application or individual components. Since it goes hand in hand, I
might go into a little bit more of the MapReduce (that i heard you guys
already went over a bit with GreenPlum).
Would this be something that people might like?
Though i may want to do this in June or July because i know you guys
meet on wednesdays now and that conflicts with my class schedule. plus
i'll have more time then because i wont have any classes during summer.
