In what context? Are you familiar with the DateStyle setting? See
"Date/Time Types" in the "Data Types" chapter of the documentation
for more information. You might also want to see "Data Type
Formatting Functions" in the "Functions and Operators" chapter.
This seems off-topic for pgsql-php; one of the other lists like
pgsql-general would be more appropriate (and more likely to result
in a useful answer from experienced people who don't happen to be
interested in PHP).
