Wonderful tutorial!
It totally explains the installation.
One 'however': I think you should state it clear,
that /usr/local is an _example_ path and the user could
use any other. Also, it would be good to mention about
createuser here, eg.:
createuser root
(for the unwary folks who work as root:))
and that if the new pg username is the same as
the U*ix account's name, it becomes the default PG username, and
the user wouldn't have to specify it (eg. when the U*ix user is 'root', and ey has the PG account 'root', it will be used)
