The weekly column PostgreSQL General Bits (http://www.varlena.com/GeneralBits/)
contains tips and tidbits mostly based on items from the pgsql-general mailing list.

This week's issue covers opinions from the O'Reilly Open Source
Conference held in Portland last week.

New issues are available each Monday and archives of all past
issues are available. To receive email notification of new
issues, email elein(at)varlena(dot)com with the subject Notice_GeneralBits.

Recent issues are also available in Portuguese, translated by
Juliano de Silva Ignacio.

Our General TidBits section contains additional helpful
documents such as Josh & Shridhar's Performance document
and Annotated postgresql.conf, example code for returning
sets, rowtypes and sets of rowtypes and valid Timezones
in PostgreSQL.

If you are working in industry, you are strongly encouraged
to subscribe to General Bits for a modest fee.

cheers,

Did the usual dead chicken waving: VACUUM, ANALYZE,
REINDEX, dump&restore, restart postgresql. No luck.
