Actually, I used to manually do all those tests to test patches, but I
found a single script was less error prone, and allowed me to more
reliably test patches --- in the old days, I would forget the initdb or
regression runs, only to find out later the patch broke something.
There is a value to that script for me, and if someone else does patch
application, I suggest they use it too.
