Are you using RedHat? What version?

I usually go to www.rpmfind.net when something like this happens. If you
search for libpthread.so.0, you'll find what packages give you that file.
It tells you right there, though, that it wants glibc 2.3.2 to be
installed to give you that file.
I think somebody posted some new RedHat rpms a week or so ago. Look
through the archives.
