Hi all

the problem is i have to add user specifying the home
directory og postgres to /var/lib/pgsql

$su
#adduser -d /var/lib/pgsql postgres
#cd /var/lib
#chown postgres.postgres pgsql

now
#su postgres
$/etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql start

working fine
