if you look at the schema for pg_attribute, down at the very end there
are some 12491 that should be 1249l
would this cause our alignment problem?
somehow I doubt it..
in any case, i found this by trying to put a 4 byte field after
attrelid and before attname to see if that cleared up the problem.
