Thanks everyone for the advice.
I'm looking for reliable home-based VoIP, if it exists. As I intimated
in the OP, the bar is pretty low with Vonage. (For example, rebooting
the vonage router every other day would be an improvement.) I decided to
take Quinn's advice and signed up for Broadvoice. After all, he does
this sort of thing for a living. Send me email in a few months if you're
curious about the quality, ease-of-use, etc.
AT&T is our safety net. I almost signed up there last night, but was
defeated by their user-hostile web interface and the 10 minute wait time
to start new service. Oh, for the days when customer service actually
meant it.
Cheers,
Reece
