Hello....I built and installed Postgres 6.3.2 on a Solaris 2.5.1 machine and ran the regression
tests with no problems. Now I am trying to create user accounts. I create the account with the
createdb script, select yes for the two options and the account is created. When I try to log-on
using that account I get an User authentication failed error message. I am on the same machine as
when I log in as the postgres super user. here is a copy of my pg_hba.conf
local all trust
host all 199.4.254.238 255.255.255.255 trust
host all 199.4.254.239 255.255.255.255 trust
host all 127.0.0.1 255.255.255.255 trust
199.4.254.239 is the machine I am logged into and that is the machine the postmaster is running on.
I started the postmaster with the -i option and thats it. Any suggestions? I am desperate!
Thanks and please email a copy of your responses to me!
