As a newbie, I would be interested to learn something about
1. DB design in connection with the the changing way that transactions occur
these days, particularly online. Table relationships seem to become more
complex, e.g. an order for one customer built up by more than one user, i.e.
field rep, customer and manuf. rep may all contribute to the one order. Or
product invoice built up from standard product table, but also some
specials, some bonuses offered by outside reps etc.
2. Remote DB connectivity - what are the state-of-the-art applications that
connect to the DB from browsers - are they Java, or Perl or what? And are
all these server-side applications? I am thinking of some the shopping cart
sites such as Woolworths.
Would anyone else be interested in these issues? Or any current references
one might look up?
Regards
Kirti
