With PostgreSQL rated the most desired database in the world, and 37% of respondents in PASS Data Community Summit’s 2024 Community Insights Survey having noted PostgreSQL as a database of interest, we have bolstered our educational program with even more Postgres specific sessions this year.
The leading-edge sessions at PASS Data Community Summit (November, 4-8, 2024) feature renowned experts and community leaders all coming together to connect, share and learn in a state-of-the-art new venue: Seattle Convention Center's Summit.
To provide a deep-dive into PostgreSQL for our attendees, we’re pleased to offer two full day pre-cons at this year’s event. Join Aaron Cutshall on Monday, November 4, for ‘A Practical Guide to Set-Based Queries’. This session will examine what set-based queries are, how to identify inefficient procedural processes, and how they can be rewritten as efficient set-based queries. On Tuesday, November 5, Ryan Booz and Grant Fritchey will lead a full day pre-con on ‘PostgreSQL Fundamentals for SQL Server Developers’. Based on a new book from Redgate by Grant and Ryan, this pre-con will introduce you to the similarities and differences of PostgreSQL compared to SQL Server. From tooling, security, configuration, writing SQL and pl/sql, and query tuning, you’ll be equipped to start exploring PostgreSQL on your own and contributing to new projects and initiatives.
Attendees can currently choose from 27 different PostgreSQL sessions at PASS Summit 2024, including a dedicated PostgreSQL learning pathway. Comprising of five sessions that build upon each other, the PostgreSQL learning pathway is designed to guide an attendee from start to finish and enable them to walk away with an actionable skill or strategy to use in their day-to-day. PASS Summit has also recently announced a new partnership with PgCentral Foundation which will see Postgres Conference return to Seattle from November 6 to 8. Postgres Conference Seattle will take place in the same venue as PASS Data Community Summit 2024, allowing even more members of the data community to connect, share and learn together this year.
Overall, we’re expecting around 2,000 attendees at this event, and there are currently over 170 sessions available for you to choose from. With the program and schedule now available to view, there’s never been a better time to plan each day you’ll be on-site, book your travel and secure your ticket.
